After a thrilling 94-88 win in Game 4 of their opening round series, the Orlando Magic coaching staff reached out to the Detroit Pistons to find a time to meet ahead of game five and figure out which team will be responsible for fucking the whole thing up.
The long moribund Magic are favored to take the collapse and piss away the next three games as they haven’t won a playoff series since 2010. However, the Pistons could get the nod to finish their dream season with a playoff calamity as well.
“The team understands. This is part of playing for the Magic,” coach Jamahl Mosely said. “When push comes to shove, there are teams that do in the NBA and teams that are the Orlando Magic. We just try to ride it out best we can.”
While these types of meetings tend to favor the team lacking in historical success, the Pistons have set everything up perfectly to get tapped to end their season in a shower of boos in Michigan in Game 5.
Since a six-year stretch of making it to the conference finals or further from 2003-2008 the Pistons have been a turd in the NBA punchbowl with only two playoff game wins.
“We come to work every day and play hard,” Cade Cunningham said. “We want more and know we can do more. Just gonna pray hard tonight we don’t get the call.”
Both coaching staffs will talk with the NBA office tonight, and the decision will be made tonight via secret ballot at the league office in Manhattan. Results will be posted to the official NBA Myspace the morning of game 5.
