Ducks & Knights to change jersey colors for rest of series

After an exciting first two games, the Anaheim Ducks and Vegas Golden Knights came to an agreement to change jerseys for the rest of the series.

Anaheim’s bright electric orange mixed with the Knights’ more muted gold has created what one league source called “a visual hellfest.”

The Knights will wear their 2024 Winter Classic jerseys on the road and red 2021 reverse retros at home. The Ducks will return to the eggplant & teal jerseys worn at the turn of the century.

“It was vomit and bile all over my TV,” Longtime Ducks fan Anthony Cantone of Costa Mesa said. “I love the Ducks but was thinking of switching to radio for the rest of the series. I was getting queasy watching game 2. And we won that one.”

The NHL released a joint announcement about the change, along with images of the new sweater options, saying simply:

We’ve heard you loud and clear. All new colors, same great action.

Cantone said he was thrilled to see the jerseys he first saw as a kid back on the ice in a big game. “Got chills thinking of Paul Kariya’s famous goal. Off the floor! On the board.”

When asked on the team’s subreddit, Knights fan u/VGKForever321 said “I think if our center ice logo didn’t look like a bowl of mustard & oatmeal it wouldn’t be too bad, but I get it. And those red sweaters are so fucking sick. It’ll be cool seeing them in the playoffs. Go Knights.”

Game 3 of the series is scheduled for the Honda Center tomorrow night.
