Fresh off of winning a Pulitzer Prize, noted sports podcaster & Harvard graduate Pablo Torre shocked the sports media world by announcing that he would be changing the name and mission of his award-winning show.
In a statement from both Torre and Meadowlark Media, it was announced that the podcast would keep the PTFO initialism but change its name to Pablo The Fuck Out.
“Winning the Pulitzer was one of the greatest professional moments I will ever have,” Torre said in an exclusive interview with BGS. “And I felt it was time to turn my eyes to an itch I’ve wanted to scratch my entire life: competing in the X Games.”
Pablo The Fuck Out, which is play on the phrase “tricking the fuck out”, will follow Torre as learns the tricks and moves to compete in the vert skateboarding event at the 2029 X Games. Torre went on to say he had long admired the extreme sports stars of his youth, especially the cerebral performances from Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasek.
“Pablo is incredible and has done so much to help elevate Meadowlark and prove that strong, confident investigative sports journalism still has a place in the world despite what the naysayers may think,” John Skipper, co-founder of Meadowlark Media, said. “I’m excited to see Pablo throw himself into this new venture with passion and creativity.”
Torre said that he will continue the podcast as is through Labor Day and said there would be no branding change stating “I think our colorway and theme music work well in extreme sports, even if it has a bit of a 90s pastiche.”
