Brendan Sorsby announces his planned wagers for the upcoming season

Fresh off getting the benefit of the Injunction Heard Round College Football, slightly above average quarterback Brendan Sorsby called a press conference in Lubbock today to announce his wagering plan for the upcoming season.

Sitting in the middle of the stage flanked by head coach Joey McGuire and head of the board of regents Cody Campbell, Sorsby read from a prepared statement.

“With the blessing of Coach McGuire and Athletic Director Hocutt, and powered by the generosity of Mr Campbell, I am happy to announce my plan for in-game financial enhancements for the upcoming season. My team and I are confident this will both improve the game experience, my performance on the field, and be the best way forward for myself and my family. Thank you. God Bless. Guns up.”

Under a large video screen, Sorsby went through his wagering plan. The stand outs were a planned $400,000 wager on throwing three interceptions vs Colorado in October and a series of bets on all third downs for all four November contests against Big 12 opposition.

When questioned by the assembled media, Sorsby responded every time to direct questions to his legal counsel, who were standing behind him on the stage throughout the event. However Campbell, the nouveau riche money mark in charge of the university, did deliver an impromptu statement.

“Brendan deserves a chance to play on the field,” Campbell said. “The young man made one or two mistakes and I ask everyone in this room, who did not do a silly thing or two in their early 20s? That’s not a reason to ruin a livelihood while it’s still in the cradle.”

During Sorsby’s presentation there were no planned wagers shown for the opening two games of the season, against Abilene Christian and Oregon State, the two games in which Sorsby is suspended from playing.
